All Progressives Congress youth and women leaders in the 21 Local Government Areas of Adamawa State have solicited political appointments as supervisory councillors from the state government.

The leaders made the appeal in Yola during a solidarity visit to the newly appointed state Acting Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, at the party secretariat.

Speaking on behalf of the youths and women leaders, the state youths’ leader of the party, Abubakar Toungo, said the youths and women had played a vital role in the victories of the APC at all levels in the state and would want to see their leaders being carried along by giving them appointments in government.

“As youth and women leaders, we want to be actively engaged in governance, particularly at the grassroots level. We want all the youth and women leaders in the 21 local government areas of the state to be given appointments as supervisory councillors for them to continue to contribute actively in the implementation of our party’s transformation agenda,” Toungo said.

Also speaking, the youth leader of Numan Local Government, Mr. Gabriel William, and Women Leader of Yola North Local Government, Mrs. Amina Malamre, also made a case for political appointments for the youths, declaring their support for the acting state chairman and Governor Bindow Jibrilla.

In his remarks, the newly appointed Adamawa APC state Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, who lauded the youth and women for their role in the party successes, promised to forward their requests to the governor.
