AIG urges policemen to be God-fearing in discharging their duties

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG , of the Police Zone 2 command, Abdul Majid Ali on Tuesday urged men of the force to imbibe the fear God in discharging their duties. He by allowing innocent motorists who beg them in the name of God to pass, during the discharge of their duties along the road .

Ali, speaking at a One Day Final Interactive Seminar/ Award Presentation, organized by Obantoko Police Community Relation Committee, PCRC, held at the “D” Pavilion Event Place appealed to the police operating within the zone, especially those at the road to exhibit the fear of God by treating innocent motorists fairly.

He said, “You will stop people at the road, particularly police with patrol vehicle at the road side, innocent motorists who beg you in the name of God, please for God sake let me go and you are still holding that person, then you have commit”

The police boss also charges the police officers to allow the teachings from the two holy books to reflect in the performance of their duties.

” A job of policing is a job and a service between you and your God. Do you do what the word of God asked you to do? Are you following the teachings of the holy books?”.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu pledged that the police will adhere strictly to the laws of the land. He assures the AIG of the support of his men, Obantoko division of the PCRC, as well as the entire members of the group in the state.

The Chairman of the Obantoko PCRC, Hon. Taiwo Akinlabi expressed the readiness of the body to work with the Nigerian police to fight against crime .

He said, “we shall continue to assist the the Nigerian Police in combating crimes through intelligence and information gathering on criminality activities within our neighborhood, as well as offering logistics assistance and engaging in problem solving discussion”.
