Aiyejina,Enakhena, Okon-Akpan get Nigeria Pitch awards

The postponed ceremony for the Media category of the Nigeria Pitch Awards was held on Wednesday at Ibis Hotel, Ajao Estate, in Lagos with the winners receiving their awards and certificates.
The ceremony was slated for last year but was rescheduled when the winners in Media event were not around to receive their certificates.
Tana Aiyejina of the Punch won the Football Journalist of the Year Print Media award, Godwin Enakhena of the Top Radio was adjudged best in the Football Journalist of the Year in Radio category while Austin Okon-Akpan of the Channels Television won the Football Journalist of the Year Television event.
Some heavyweight journalists like Ade Ojeikere of the Nation, Johnny Edwards of the Complete Sports and Emmanuel Tobi of the New Telegraph were also nominated in the Print Media category, as Bimbo Adeola, a presenter of Sports programme at Star FM, Babafemi Raji of Brila Sports and Murphy Ejemba were also mentioned in the Radio category.
Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye of the Channels Television, Enakhena and Miyen Akire made the final nominations in the Television category.
The three award winners were highly motivated by the awards as they promised to do more to remain relevant in the Sports Writing business.
The awards ceremony was witnessed by who-is-who in the Sports journalism profession, including the Spokesperson of the Nigeria Olympic Committee cum President of the Guilde of Sports Editors in Nigeria, Tony Ubani and Nigeria Football Federation Media and Communications Director, Ademola Olajire
