Amosun rewards paralympian with N1M

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Wednesday rewarded a paralympian who won a Silver Medal for the State with a sum of  N1million.

The paralympian, Mrs Lateefat Tijani, was rewarded with the cash prize alongside her coach, Mrs. Kemi Oyebola, who was also given a sum of N500,000.

The rewards came, when the duo came to present the Silver Medal that Mrs Tijani won in the 45 kg weightlifting category of the just concluded Paralympics game in Rio De Janeiro in Brazil, to the Governor at his Oke- Mosan office, Abeokuta.

Amosun, while urging the Silver Medalist not to relent in her quest for excellence, challenged her to ensure that she wins a Gold medal in the next Paralympic game .

The Governor promised to give her training kits for the next Paralympic game, also used the occasion to thank the coach, as well as those who supported her to win the Silver Medal

Mrs. Tijani however thanked the governor for his kind gesture and support for sports, saying that, with the Governor’s support,she was certain that she would win the Gold medal at the next Olympics.”
