Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige, is from Idemili South local government area.

Results from the 14 local government areas of Anambra state in the governorship election held on Saturday, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, showed that the state incumbent governor, Willie Obiano, is heading for a second term.
Obiano of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA has so far polled over 200, 000 votes, beating other candidates.
