Attacked LAWMA worker loses voice, stranded in hospital

A staff of Lagos Waste Management Authority, Thomas Rilwan who was attacked by some hoodlums at Lagos Island is stranded in an undisclosed private hospital in Lagos.

The Point gathered from a source that the victim has been abandoned by his family because they could not afford his outstanding medical bills. It was learnt that the victim was recently transferred from a general hospital where he was receiving treatment to the private hospital when his condition fail to improve. Rilwan, who was stabbed with knife in the eye when he was ambush suspected armed robbers, has lost his voice after the knife was removed from his head through surgery.

Meanwhile, The Point gathered that friends and associate of the dead are planning to storm the Lagos state house of assembly and Police command in protests against series of mayhem frequently unleashed on the residents of Lagos Island by the hoodlums.
The Point, had earlier reported that the LAWMA officials were attacked by some hoodlums in the neighborhood who got some hint that the waste disposal men were behind a recent raid of their hideout by the police, who seized their guns and other dangerous weapons.
