Talented musician, Abiodun Usman Azeez, aka Beezy, has been unveiled as the latest on the label of Aquila Records.
Born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Beezy moved to Dublin, Ireland, at a young age. In Dublin, regardless of his passion for music, he ensured that this didn’t stop him from obtaining good education. He has two degrees, one in Mechanical Engineering and the other in Business Management.
The singer, who relocated to Nigeria early this year, May, precisely, couldn’t hide his excitement during the unveiling ceremony at Club Quilox at Victoria Island, Lagos.
He explained, “I am grateful to Aquila Records and Shina Peller for giving me this opportunity. It means a lot to me. With the support of my label, I see myself as one of the finest musicians in Nigeria. Though I started as a rapper, I don’t like to be put in a box. I’m versatile, I do different kinds of music.”
According to Shina Peller, the owner, Aquila Records, from the moment he heard Beezy’s song as a direct message on Instagram, he couldn’t just ignore him. He admitted that he had ignored many of such messages in the past.
“Beezy got my attention just from an ordinary post on Instagram, though I get an average of 10 to 15 of such every day. When I got his DM, apart from the fact that he appreciated what I had done in the entertainment industry, I like the way he was able to turn around an ordinary freestyle into an extraordinary thing. That caught my attention. When it comes to signing an artiste on the label, talent is not the only thing I look for. There are other things like attention to details, ability to learn and, of course, loyalty. From that particular post, I knew he was someone I could not just push aside,” he said.
Before signing on to Aquila Records, Beezy wrote a freestyle, detailing his experiences in the industry. He also prophesied that he would be signed by Peller.
