Court remands two bricklayers for hijacking motorcycle from rider in Osun

 A Chief Magistrate’s court sitting in Osogbo has remanded two bricklayers, Matthew Bamidele,44, and Timothy Ishola, 30, in Ilesha prison for allegedly robbing a rider of his motorcycle.
Bamidele and Ishola were dragged to court by the police in Osun on Tuesday and they were charged with armed robbery and conspiracy.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Elisha  Olusegun, told the court that the two accused persons committed the offence on August 2, 2017 at Onibueja area in Osogbo.
He said the two accused persons conspired to commit felony and armed robbery.
According to him, the two accused persons armed themselves with dangerous weapons such as knife and iron and robbed one Adesina Afeez of his motorcycle Bajaj Boxer, valued at N127,000.
He explained that the offence allegedly committed by the accused person is contrary to and punishable under Section 6(b)1(1) and Section 1(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap Rll  Volume. 14 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The accused persons’ plea was not taken. Also, there was no lawyer to represent them in court.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Awodele, ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesha prison custody and adjourned the case till December 15 for mention.
