Decaying remains of missing UNIOSUN student found inside bush

Students and some residents of the Oke Baale area location of the Osun State University in Osogbo broke down in tears after the decomposing remains of a 400 level student of the institution, Oluwafemi Oluwatimilehin Shonibare, was found inside a bush around the main campus.
Shonibare, a 400 level student of the department of Microbiology in the university, had been declared missing since last Monday, a situation that resulted in protest by his colleagues, who urged security agencies in the state to fetch the victim alive.
The students said Shonibare had stepped out of his Harmony Hostel at about 10pm around the popular Suzzy Hotel area of the campus to buy pepper, which he wanted to use to prepare some soup.
But exactly eight days after the final year student went missing, his corpse was found in a bush around Jafaria street, a stone thrown from the victim’s hostel.
The students and residents of the community could not control their tears, when they sighted the remains of the victim from which disgusting stench was oozing out.
The students told our correspondent on Tuesday that Shonibare was found near a Muslim cleric’s house, disclosing further that the suspect had been arrested by the police in connection with the undergraduate’s sudden disappearance.
They argued that the policemen had brought the said Alfa to the area and he was said to have later showed the policemen the place where the decapitated corpse was found.
When contacted on the telephone to confirm the shocking discovery, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye, directed our correspondent to visit the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folashade Odoro, for comments.
