Delta to get more revenue allocation soon – Okowa

Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has expressed hope that with the return of relative peace to the state in recent times it will soon climb to the second position in the country in terms of revenue allocation.

Okowa stated this in Warri at a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Delta South Senatorial District held at the residence of the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.

The governor, however, noted that for the state to achieve this feat the people of the state must continue to embrace peace in order to galvanize the needed development in the state. He said that without peace no meaningful progress could be achieved, adding that Delta State had fallen back to the fourth position in terms of revenue sharing because of the recent crisis in the state. Okowa said, “With the return of peace and the increase in oil production, in the next few months we will climb to the second position and gradually move to the first position.
