Djagbo, armless multi-instrumentalist, to doubters: ‘My ability is limitless’

Djagbo Simeon has a word for people who still undermine his ability to do certain things. Born without fingers and palms, he plays the guitar, keyboard and drums without limitation.
And how he does it has always been the question on the lips of people. Apart from music, he is a graduate of Library and Information Science from Delta State University and is almost through with his masters in the same course.
He told our correspondent that there was nothing he could not do himself. He drives himself, uses iron and writes like any other person. “There is nothing I cannot do. If there is anything I want to do, I do it myself. I am limitless. The only problem I have is poor financial strength. My situation is not an excuse to fail in life because God has given me everything, the power and strength,” he said.
He plans to drop some singles soon. According to him, he did not think about singing until recently. All he just wanted to do before was to play instruments.
“I will be doing gospel music. I once did secular music and it was nice, but I feel that is not what God wants for me. I believe what I am today is by the grace of God, so I should not deviate from that line. That is the only way I can give back to God.”
In 1999, the thought of being a blessing to others pushed Djagbo into music. People felt he did not have fingers, yet he could do things. “What I do today is impossible in the sight of men. But God has made it possible for me to do those things and people are marvelled,” he said.
