Dressing provocatively to church isn’t fashion – Nollywood actress, Yinka Pearce

Young Nollywood actress and television presenter, Yinka Pearce, sees fashion as pleasure, comfort and essence rolled into one.
For Pearce, who also specialises in commercial modeling, fashion is how you reveal who you are.
“Fashion is fun, happiness and a way you tell who you are; it is who I am and what I’m really comfortable with,” she says.
She, however, argues that fashion must be guided by rules.
“Well, for me, fashion is what you are comfortable with, but then there are rules; rules in the sense that, if you expose the top, cover the bottom; if you expose the bottom, cover the top. This goes to when you are wearing a cleavage-opening cloth or top, make sure the bottom is closed. Fashion shouldn’t be short up and short down or open up and open down,” Pearce explains.
The beautiful actress says she wears what suits her complexion and sometimes dresses in a trendy manner.

“Sometimes, I work in line with trends. I do not really have a favourite colour because most times, all the colours suit me and I have been able to understand that about myself. I tend to lean a lot towards black. Black is real contrast to my skin tone, being light skinned. Black makes you slimmer and it trims you down a bit,” she says.

On her favourite apparel, Pearce notes, “Generally, I love dresses. You know, moody dresses to flowing fun dresses to jackets. I wear different kinds of jackets. In style, I would pick a dress first, then I would pick a pair of Jeans, because it’s pretty comfortable, especially when I am working to make things easier.”
On the fashion style she prefers, she says the occasion determines her outfit.
“I found out that people wear whatever they feel like to church. You’ll see someone wearing what they saw at the club to the church. I would advise ladies to be careful with what they wear and where they wear them to. We should be careful with what we wear. I am a Christian and it is not about pretence. But anytime I go to Church, I wear what covers my body completely. The saying that there is beauty in what is covered is still relevant,” Pearce says.
