Nigeria Football Federation technical committee will soon meet with the Super Eagles Technicial Adviser, Gernot Rohr over how to replace the injured Wolves goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme ahead of Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers.
The goalkeeper has been sidelined for almost a month after picking up an injury while away on international duty with Nigeria.
It was hoped that he would only be out for a couple of weeks, but the injury is taking longer than expected to heal and Wolves may now have to do without him for what remains of their Championship campaign.Losing Ikeme is another injury blow as Paul Lambert looks to get over the safety line as soon as possible.
With this development, there is hope on the horizon for former number one goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, who is currently warming Rohr’s heart with his showing in the French Lique.
Rohr has re-affirmed the possibility of recalling the Lille of France goal tender to man the Eagles’ goalpost in subsequent international matches. But the former Enyimba goalkeeper may need to settle his differences with NFF bigwigs if his recall is to see the light of day
