Emulate Biblical Job, cleric admonishes Christians

…as CSMC Arojah District holds 40th harvest thanksgiving

The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Arojah District Headquarters, Iju-Ishaga, Lagos, has held its 40th annual harvest anniversary thanksgiving service, amid admonition to the faithful to imbibe the attributes of Biblical Job.
The Founder of the Salvation Army Church, Superintendent Apostle Kayode Olawunmi, who delivered the sermon during the service attended by all the branches under the Arojah District in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and Osun states as well as other church denominations from across the country, urged all Christians to always strive to renew their strength and faith in God, like Job.
Speaking on the theme of the harvest, “New Glory,” Olawunmi, who quoted from Job 29:20, said that the Biblical Job earned his temporal honour from men because of his practical demonstration of renewed strength and faith in God, in spite of the tribulations he encountered at a time in his life.
He said that in spite of the afflictions visited on Job by the devil, he never wavered, but remained steadfast, resisting the temptation to deny or curse God as being counseled by even his close relations around him.
The cleric said, “As Christians, we must seek to renew our strength and faith in God at all times and in all circumstances. No matter the situation we face or we are faced with, we must not deny God in any way. Job has continued to earn the honour all men give unto him because, despite all the tribulations, he had his strength and faith in God renewed every day.”
“And so as Christians, we must emulate the Biblical Job regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves. It is by so doing that we’ll attain a new glory in God Almighty, who will surely reward our unquenchable faith in Him.”
Also speaking on the occasion, the Chairman, CSMC, Arojah District, Special Apostle (Prince) Ademola Awolesi, enjoined all members to be supportive of the church authorities at all times in order to advance the kingdom of God.
Awolesi also urged the congregation to eschew acts that could engender discord and disunity in the body of Christ.
“It is the duty of all members to support the church to move it forward. All our actions must, therefore, not be seen to edify the body of Christ. So, we must not at any time be found wanting in our service to God, our creator,” he said.
The Leader-in-Charge of the CSMC Arojah District Headquarters, Most Senior Apostle Soji Olagunju, appealed to all church members to always be their brothers’ keepers by demonstrating concern for the well-being of the others.
Olagunju urged them to put behind them all past disagreements and join hands to lift the glory of God by spreading the gospel as Christians have been mandated by Christ.
“What should matter most to us all is the kingdom of God. All hands should be on deck to ensure that we deliver on the mandate Christ has given unto us to preach the gospel all over the world,” he said.
He thanked all the officials of the church, including the Senior District Secretary, Special Apostle/Rev (Dr.) Olusegun Awe Obe; the District Supervising Prophet, Special Apostle (Prophet) N.S Agboyinde and members of the 2017 Harvest Committee for their contributions and support for the 40th harvest thanksgiving service.
