For Anambra State-born Nollywood film actress and model, Ify Nancy Ubah, the importance of fashion can’t be over-emphasized as it’s an art that keeps trending, depending on the way individuals combine the colours. Ubah says It’s a way of expressing your styles and even yourself.
“Fashion is the way individuals change styles to make them happy. It is an act of expressing your views and a way to make your thoughts known,” she says.
According to the experienced actress, who has been exhibiting a fashionable lifestyle in acting and modeling, anyone can generate fashion, depending on the way the accessories are combined.
She adds that one could just put on something decent and take shots to make yourself happy. “Anyone can just play, dress up, be creative and take shots of yourself at home and have fun. Make yourself happy with the available cloth you have; this is where fashion comes from. It is wearing what you feel happy and good in’, Ubah says. Ubah, who has modeled for different designers at her young age, explains that with her combined experience as a model and an actress, fashion comes in handy in expressing her mind.
Speaking about her flair for fashion, she states that it is a tool of expression as it is in acting and singing.
“Like in film acting, you express yourself with the way you act and in singing you express with your songs. You can also express yourself with your type of fashion. Just with a piece of clothing you can express yourself. When you wear clothes, you should consider different clothes and how they look on your skin’, she says.

Asked about her best apparel and how good it makes her look, she says, “For me, the outfit is a total thing. I love accessories like the African attire, mostly. The African wear is something that is unique, for me, especially the Adire. I love playing up with accessories, especially when I’m wearing just plain black dress.”
She states that fashion also reveals her inner expression that can’t be physically seen. “The accessories I put on make people around know to know how I am feeling, my thoughts and the kind of occasion I am going to. I love Blue mostly because it makes me look stunning,” Uba adds.
Ubah has modeled for Frank Oshodi and other upcoming fashion designing outfits and this has paved the way for her in the industry Outside modeling and acting, the vibrant damsel says she loves all kinds of music and likes learning new things.
‘I enjoy music, reading and learning new things. I love all kinds of music. I do things that make me happy always,” she says.
She gives piece of advice to youths interested in venture into the fashion industry, saying, “Get education first, follow your passion, get the right mentor, friends and people around you that will encourage you, not those that will mock you or bring you negative thoughts.
Stay around those who will keep the fire burning in you and encourage you.” On her next project, Ubah says, “I am working on a fashionable movie filled with glamour. It’s going to be a thrilling drama filled with lots of fashion. My fans will enjoy it.
