Fashion to me is art – Priscilla Agbidi Phillips

As far as Priscilla Agbidi Phillips, the Chief Executive Officer of Fashion & Media, is concerned, fashion is an art of expressing every version of how one wants to be
perceived.
A fashion, public relations consultant, producer and TV host, she told The Point that her
wardrobe style is antrogeneous, which means she is neither a man, nor a woman in terms of her looks.
“As a female, I wear boots, sneakers and at times, stilettos; it all depends on the event I am going for, or what I want to do,” she said.
The University of Jos graduate noted that she likes to wear a lot of western styles, but not
western clothing per se, adding, “Personally, I wear local brands, because most of my clients are fashion designers. So, most of the time, I have to wear their brands to be able to promote it to their audience.”
Regarding make-up, the 29-year-old said she believes in doing her make-up from the
inside out.
She said, “I don’t believe so much in contouring the face, because I believe that if
one takes care of one’s skin from the inside, such as eating right, taking necessary supplements that will help my skin glow, all these will help make-up to look good on you. So, make-up for me is from inside out. Notwithstanding, I still go for nice make-up brands.
“When it comes to shoes, I love boots, they make me comfortable, because of the nature
of my job. I look only glamorous on red carpets.”
Ms. Phillips owns a fashion blog called ‘Style and Media,’ which came into the
limelight in 2008. Among the celebrities she has styled are Stephanie Okereke-Linus, Joselyn Dumas and Kiki Omeili.
She revealed that she styled the entire crew of the popular sitcom, ‘Lekki Wives,’ including their costuming premiere in London.
In 2008, she was second runner-up for best innovative fashion blog, having being
nominated alongside lindaikeji, and bellanaija, among others.
The Delta-born fashion enthusiast is a graduate of PUSHAFRICA, an institute of media and journalism in Nigeria. She has also hosted various programmes on Pulse TV and Spice TV respectively.
