I will like to use this medium to appeal to Governor Amosun of Ogun State to urgently check the nefarious activities of Vehicle Inspection Officers on roads in the state, especially along Ojodu Berger road to Akute. These VIO men are in the habit of stopping moving vehicles abruptly and incessantly on a daily basis only to extort the motorists. At times, their incessant stop-and-check operations cause major traffic gridlock along major roads in the area. It should be noted that the recent ban of VIOs on roads in Lagos State has started yielding positive results as motorists can now have a smooth ride driving to their destinations. I believe the people of Ogun State, too, deserve to be freed from the menace constituted by VIOs on our roads throughout the state.
