Group faults President on improved power generation claim

A group, Edo Civil Society Organisations, has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s claim that the country now generates 7100 megawatts of electricity.
EDOSCOs’ President, Omobude Agho, in an interview with our correspondent in Benin, during the inauguration of the group’s new executives, expressed reservation about the President’s claim.
Agho said that it was needless for the President to tell Nigerians about such a development, which should rather reflect in constant supply of electricity to every part of the country.
He said, “True, he did talk about improvement in the generation of electricity, which has been dwindling in the past eight years, from 3500 megawatts to 4000 megawatts. The president announced that we have reached 7100 megawatts. I clearly say to Nigerians that, that is a big lie. He does not need to tell us that the generation has increased. We will see it with the supply.
