Group tackles Osun land grabbers, presents bill to Assembly

A group of Osogbo-born professionals in Osun State has presented a bill seeking to put an end to the activities of land grabbers and extortion at construction sites to the state House of Assembly.
The group, under the aegis of the Osogbo Affairs Forum, said that land grabbers, popularly known as ‘Omo Onile,’ had become notorious in grabbing lands and frustrating land owners trying to erect buildings in the state in recent times.
OSAF, represented by its Steering Committee, while presenting the bill to the two lawmakers representing Osogbo and Olorunda constituencies in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Akintunde Adegboye and Hon Wasiu Adebayo, enjoined the lawmakers to ensure that the bill was passed into law.
Speaking on behalf of the lawmakers, Hon. Adegboye assured the OSAF delegation that the bill would be presented to the Assembly, adding that the cooperation of other lawmakers in the Assembly would be sought in ensuring the passage of the bill into law.
