A security guard, simply identified as Baba Toyin, passed on last Thursday, while having sexual intercourse with a married woman, also identified as Nike, in a hotel room in the Ikeja area of Lagos.

Before giving up the ghost, the deceased, described as an unrepentant womaniser, was a guard attached to a popular hotel at Alausa. Nike, on the other hand, was reportedly working at the Lagos State Waste Disposal Board.

The Point’s investigations revealed that the two love birds had booked a room at a relaxation centre known as “Double”, a stone throw from ‘Ikeja Under-Bridge.’

Sources revealed to The Point that the duo spent hours in their room before the woman suddenly raised the alarm that attracted other lodgers and hotel staff, who rushed to the scene. The security guard’s lifeless body was said to have been met in a state that suggested he had been sweating profusely.

The management of the hotel, having tried unsuccessfully to revive the guard, called in the police from the nearby Area F command, who immediately arrested the woman for questioning. The lifeless body of the guard was thereafter deposited at the Ikeja public morgue, preparatory for a post mortem examination while the woman was detained.

A competent police source told The Point that there was nothing to show that the woman killed the guard. Preliminary investigation, according to the source, indicated that the guard might have died of exhaustion resulting from magun, a Yoruba word meaning thunder-bolt.

As at the time of writing this report, efforts were being made to release the detained woman, who had spent close to two weeks in detention, while the family of the deceased guard had been contacted.

Independent investigations by The Point, however, revealed that the deceased man was living on the same street with his alleged lover at the Itogun area. The woman’s husband, it was gathered, had repeatedly warned the deceased to leave his wife alone to no avail.

The Lagos State Police image maker, Deputy Superintendent Joe Offor, confirmed the story to The Point, on enquiry. Offor said the police was still awaiting the autopsy report on the matter. When the hotel was contacted, the management simply said, “the matter is with the police
