‘I expect my husband to love what I do’ says female DJ, Queen Martha

After making a name for herself in Port Harcourt, Queen Martha Udeme, popularly known as DJ Moonliat, moved to Lagos in January to make bigger impact.
In a chat with The Point, the female Dee Jay said that she had what it takes to be at the top.
She said, “I am here to stay and I am doing well already. Though, I already have a brand in Port Harcourt, Lagos is the hub of entertainment.”
A graduate of Computer Science from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, DJ Moonliat noted that venturing into music was never in her plans while growing up.
“I never knew I would be a DJ until 2012. I just noticed that people always thought I was a DJ even when I was yet to think of it. Later, a church member that told me to try it,” she said.
How she got her name, DJ Moonliat, was quite dramatic. While they were in a dilemma, her master, DJ Big Joe, insisted that there must be something distinct about her.
She recalled, “As I opened the door one afternoon, my complexion reflected and the next thing DJ Big Joe said was ‘see moonlight oo.’ I love the name so much, though many people have advised me to change it. DJ Moonliat will, however, not want to sacrifice her love for music for marriage because, according to her, God says He will give all our heart desires.
“I am single at the moment, but all my exboyfriends were supportive of my career. I am deeply into this and I expect my future husband to support me since he met me doing it. But as time goes on, I will definitely reduce attending night events,” she said.
