I used to be a huge fan of blue-bell jeans – Nadia Buari

Nadia Buari is a Ghanaian actress, born on November 21, 1982. She received two nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2007 and 2009. The daughter of a Ghanaian musician, Sidiku Buari, Nadia studied Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, Legon and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. She debuted on Ghanaian national television with the TV series, ‘Games People Play’ in late 2005.
Her first major film was ‘Mummy’s Daughter,’ after which she starred in ‘Beyonce: The President’s Daughter.’ Her role as Beyonce was her major breakthrough. She has featured in about 150 movies.
Talking about life she said, “With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. Just remember to always believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside of you that is greater than any obstacle.”
To her, one can have it all by believing in oneself that one can, adding, “The secret of having it all is believing that you already do.”
The actress said it has been a long time she braided her hair, due to the long hours of sitting when braiding. She said, “The first time in a long time, I had my hair braided; I totally loved it but for the long wait, not sure I can sit through it again.” Describing herself, the mother of twins said, “I want to be like a sunflower, so that even in the darkest days, I will stand tall and find the sunlight.”
Talking about fashion, Ms Buari has different styles, depending on the occasion, from jeans, to India attire, Africa attire, and corporate wears and so on. She, however, noted, “I used to be a huge fan of blue-bell jeans in the days, but I’m bringing them back.” She concluded by saying, “Time is limited; instead of trying to be someone else; you should travel into discovering who you really are.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Travel, and take a journey into yourself.”
