Respected musician, Sound Sultan, says he would have joined Charly Boy and others in the ResumeOrResign protest if he had been around at that period.
Though the protest has since been suspended, in the heat of it, Charly Boy attacked celebrities for refusing to support the cause.
Sultan says that he respects Charly Boy a lot and appreciates all he did, but he was out of town when the protest was held.
“The most important thing is that I am always using my social media pages to talk to the youth. It is very important for us to know that it is not about a week; it is an ongoing thing. You can do a week or two weeks, but I have been speaking about this for so long. Even as an up and coming artiste, I sang about bad situations. So, nobody can point finger at me because I keep doing this at every given opportunity. If I was not around when they were doing certain things, it didn’t really matter,” he explains.
The musician also laments that people forget that celebrities are human, too, and should stop taking them as fools.
According to him, 2Face meant well when he wanted to headline a peaceful protest, but the same people he was fighting for took it against him.
“It is not about Charly Boy; it is about the people themselves. Who were the people who stoned Charly Boy?” The problem is that the people you are fighting for are divided already. They are divided by cash, tribes, political parties and other things. Those people you try to represent would be the ones to condemn you,” Sultan says.
