Iheanacho, great potential for Eagles attack, says Chukwu

Former Green Eagles skipper, Christian Chukwu, has described Manchester City new revelation, Kelechi Iheanacho, as a potential new striking force to spearhead the national team’s attack in next month’s World Cup qualifier against Zambia.
The former Under-17 striker is at the top of his game for both club and country. He recently rescued Nigeria in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, when the Super Eagles defeated Tanzania 1-0 in a 2017 Nations’ Cup qualifier and few days later, the youthful forward scored the winning goal for Manchester City against city rival, Manchester United in a local derby.
According to the former player, Iheanacho’s performance in recent times suggests that he would be a force to reckon with in global football like Ronaldo and Messi.
“Iheanacho is a new addition to watch in some years to come. He has the potential to be the new leader in the Eagles’ attack if he keeps the momentum and the confidence he freely expresses. He should keep himself against serious injury and he should not let the achievement get into head,” he said.
“It is incredibly rare to see a young talent with a comprehensive set of attributes. Some have technical qualities but perhaps lack the confidence to fully demonstrate what they can do. Others who have the necessary talent may lack the maturity and intelligence to maximise it.
“But there are those extraordinary players who possess the complete package. Manchester City appears to have young footballers who fall into that category. And so far, Iheanacho has been making a huge impression with the team,” he said.
