I’m not a designer freak – Faithia Balogun

Popular actress, Faithia Balogun, is definitely a force to reckon with in the Nollywood industry.

The screen goddess, who many producers, especially in the Yoruba Nollywood industry, chase for her brilliant interpretation of roles, usually keeps heads turning at red carpet events.

What is her secret? “I go for what suits me best. I am not a designer freak. I wear what I am comfortable in. I do not think I should always follow the trend, especially if that trend is not good for me. I am not also one to go for revealing clothes,” she says.

“In my own little way, I think I’m fashionable. I like looking good and I spend a lot of money to achieve that. I love shoes and bags and I can do anything to get them…But I can never wear bum shorts except in movies. My fashion is simple because all I go for is what looks really good on me,” she adds.

On what her fans should look out for in the next few weeks, the beautiful actress says she has been slated for a “Best Actress Award” in Houston, Texas, United States. Her next movie project, “Connection”, will also be released soon.

“It is about the girl child, in particular,  and children in general. It is a must-watch for all parents,” she says.

In response to The Point’s question on how she has managed to the top in the highly competitive Nollywood industry, Faithia says the first thing is passion.

“The first thing is passion. I have passion for what I do, and I’m not in a hurry to achieve anything. I believe in ‘slow and steady wins the race.’ I pray to  God to get my focus and I always get it,” she notes.
