Isheri Kidnapping: Police vow to rescue victim soon

The police in Lagos have assured the relations of the Isheri North GRA resident, Mr. Dayo Adekoya, kidnapped by suspected gunmen on Wednesday night of plans to rescue the victim soon.
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, gave the assurance, when he visited the scene of the incident on Thursday in company with some members of his anti-kidnapping team.
Adekoya was kidnapped at about 8:30pm in the estate by suspected gunmen, who also killed three security guards in the area.
The police commissioner, however, assured the residents of the estate of adequate protection by his men and condoled with the family of the three victims, who lost their lives in the ugly incident.
The unknown gunmen, numbering about 11, had stormed the residence of Adekoya, who is also the Secretary of Isheri North Estate, GRA, Lagos State, around 10 pm and abducted him.
The hoodlums reportedly shot sporadically in the air and terrorised residents for over four hours, before whisking their victim away around 1 am.
It was also gathered that three of the estate security guards lost their lives while trying to foil the kidnap attempt.
