Joshua goes fishing

British boxing star, Anthony Joshua, has taken up an altogether more tranquil sport as he continues to enjoy some well-earned time away from the ring.

The IBF, WBA and IBO world heavyweight champion tried his hand in fishing and immediately proved himself to be a natural.

Joshua took to social media to proudly show off his first catch to his legions of fans. ‘First time fishing! Nice and relaxing on a lovely day,’ wrote the Olympic champion. Joshua is enjoying some rest following his record-breaking world title victory over Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley.

The pair could face each other again later this year, although Klitschko is yet to decide whether to trigger an automatic rematch clause inserted in his contract with the British champion.

Joshua is also considering his options but has told Floyd Mayweather he wants to fight on the undercard of the American’s potential mega-fight with UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Mayweather and McGregor have been locked in discussions over a historic cross-over fight over the last six months and Joshua, speaking at a meet-and-greet event alongside Mayweather, has urged the two fighters to sign on the dotted line. ‘Get me on the undercard!’, Joshua told Mayweather. ‘That’s legendary shot, that fight will go (down) in history’.
