Lagos City Marathon: Organisers ask race finishers to come for medals

The General Manager for the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Yusuf Alli, has expressed gratitude to Lagosians for their support in making the 2017  Lagos City Marathon a huge success.
Alli commended Lagos residents for turning out in their numbers not just to take part in the 2017  Lagos City Marathon but also lining out en-mass to cheer on the runners who came from over 24 countries across the world.
Aside the crowd, Alli also thanked the Executive Governor of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode for his total support and leadership style that helped a great deal to make the 2017  Access Bank Lagos City Marathon a world-class event every Nigerian and indeed African was proud of.

“I must say Lagosians are wonderful people, from the first day that the registration began till the race day, they were very supportive and they were massive on the streets to cheer the runners.

“The Governor of Lagos was also a big pillar in making the 2017 race better and we know that the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon will continue to attain greater heights by the year” the GM marathon added.

Alli also acknowledged the huge investments made by the title sponsor, Access Bank and partners like 7Up Bottling Company, Eko Hotel and Suites, and Bet9ja who all ensured that the 2017 was a success.
He thanked the media for playing a commendable role in beaming the race to the public across the world.

Meanwhile, the GM Marathon has urged everybody that finished last Saturday’s race under the official cut off mark of seven hours and are yet to get their medals to come to the Marathon Office at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere from Monday February 20, 2017 between 10am and 4pm to collect them.
He enjoined athletes that finished the race to come with appropriate proofs especially their running bib numbers.
