MFM takes leadership battle to Port Harcourt

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Football Club will on Sunday intensify its effort to overtake Plateau United Football Club as leaders in the Nigeria Professional Football League when they lock horns against embattled Rivers United in Port Harcourt.

The Olukoya Boys last Sunday strengthened their title charge after beating the ABS FC Boys, while The Peace Boys suffered defeat against the Desert Warriors.

A victory against Rivers United will no doubt change the fortunes of MFM, if Plateau Untied slips again against Akwa United.

The Olukoya Boys secured the maximum points to take their total earnings in the NPFL season to 46, thereby closing the gap on Plateau United who are sitting in the first position on the log with 48 points.

At the same time, El Kanemi Warriors who floored Plateau United recently are expected to play away to Gombe United. Relegation-threatened Gombe played a 1-1 draw with Nasarawa United last Sunday in Lafia.
