My first girlfriend is married now; I spoke about her on my mixtape, the intro. I really loved her, no doubt, but we did not have an intimate relationship. By the time I had developed the courage to tell her how I felt, I was no longer interested in her; I had taste for other things.
At present, I am not in a relationship because I am still trying to acquire wealth. Being in a relationship at times slows down one’s vision because women need attention. Music is very jealous and a serious business. If you want to be relevant for so long, you must stay away from women, at least at the early stage. And the more you work, the better it gets.
Also, I am a very jealous person and it is difficult to meet a lady who loves me for that. They could as well be easily carried away because of who they are dating. I learnt I should not get too committed to a girl in a bad way.
When I broke up with my ex-girlfriend, after I released ‘Follow Me,’ my mixtape was delayed for three months. I was emotionally down and I told myself that it would never happen again in my career. I couldn’t record or do anything for myself.
