Nairabet didn’t sponsor my new movie – Liz Anjorin

Since the news broke that Liz Anjorin is set to unveil her new production, ‘Owo Nairabet,’ there have been insinuations that the popular football betting outfit, Nairabet, sponsored it. Her new movie talks about a lady who wins a huge amount of money while playing Nairabet. She uses it wisely, but people thought she is into drugs and money laundering.

But in a chat with The Point, Anjorin insisted that she did not collect money from Nairabet for her new production.

According to the actress, she did not even know that there was a company like Nairabet until someone mentioned it to her while filming.

She said, “By the time I knew, I had registered the name and we were shooting. As we speak, I did not collect any money from them and I am not expecting anything. But I think they should be aware of it because people have been talking about the movie.

“You cannot tell me that my movie, ‘Kofo Tinubu,’ has not added values to Bola Tinubu. He has never given me a dime. But if they are writing about him, it would be mentioned that I did a movie on him. At times, if you are promoting a brand or name, you are not doing it for them but for yourself. If you eventually succeed, people will commend you for doing it.”

Anjorin, however, said she was undisturbed to be seen as a controversial person, adding that people found it hard to read good stories.

“When people insult me, I do not talk. But whenever they pass their boundaries and I retaliate, they say I like trouble. If I have a good relationship with my God, my daughter and people working with me, I’m okay. I do not need to be friendly with everyone.”
