The Director, Quality Assurance, National Examinations Council, Dr. Ikechukwu Anyanwu, has urged corporate organisations to emulate Promasidor’s initiative of sponsoring Mathematics quiz competition and elevating the quality of the study of the subject in Nigeria.
Reacting to the Cowbellpedia Secondary School Mathematics Television Quiz organised by Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Anyawu added that NECO was impressed with the initiative and pledged the council’s continued support towards ensuring that the competition achieved its aims and objectives.
Meanwhile, Promasidor has upgraded the registration portal for the 2017 edition of the competition. While entry into the competition is FREE, Promasidor’s Category Manager (Dairy), Abiodun Ayodeji, enjoined contestants to register online at www.cowbellpedia.ng. He also advised the candidates/ schools to do the following: Go to www.cowbellpedia.ng; click on link to register your school; fill the form; ensure you fill all required fields and complete the process by clicking the register button.
Ayodeji explained that the new improvement on the registration portal would flash the required fields on the computer screen to alert prospective candidates on the need to complete all the processes.
Also, Promasidor Managing Director, Mr Oliver Thiry, explained that investment in education had assumed an entirely new frontier globally, such that governments and corporate organisations had come to realise that building capacity in STEM courses, with Mathematics as a key component, represented the driving force for development in the 21st century.
