New Ogun Poly illegal – ASUP

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic chapter, has said that the new Ogun State polytechnic, located at Ipokia has not been legally established.
It also expressed worry over the proposed transfer of members from MAPOLY to the new institution, without the state government providing enabling working environment for its members.
ASUP Chairman, Comrade Kola Abiola, said that the lecturers were not ready to move to the new school until the letter of accreditation was provided for the institution.
He said, “We have asked that the government of Ogun State should not engage in illegality. Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia, is not known to law as of today. Why do you want to move the staff that are employed by a legal entity to a school that does not have any legal standing?
“If today, the government of Ogun State will produce letter of accreditation for courses as currently run by Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, I don’t think any lecturer will be skeptical to go to Ipokia.”
