Former chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatization and commercialization, Senator Gbenga Obadara, has enjoined Nigerians to continue to endure the hardship occasioned by the current economic recession.
While congratulating Nigerians for the rare privilege of witnessing the country’s 56th year of independence, Obadara, who is also the Chairman Lucinda Media (owners of Sweet 107.1FM), said that all citizens should work hard and remain hopeful that the country would get over the current hardship soon.
The former lawmaker stated this in his goodwill message to Nigerians, calling for a paradigm shift and positive attitude and utterances towards the nation.
He said, “Let us thank the Almighty God for the rare privilege of being alive. Once there is live, there is hope.
“We must start doing things a different way so as to achieve a different and hopefully better result.
“As a people, we need to start spending less. We must begin to say good things about our great nation, the obvious challenges notwithstanding. It is only a matter of time, Nigeria will be better.”
Senator Obadara further explained that, “In the face of obstacles, it is very difficult to survive without a bruise. However, if we do not believe in the impossible, that is what will get us through.
“My fellow Nigerians, Congratulations. We will all smile in due course.”
Obadara expressed hope that things would get better, saying, “Tough times don’t last but tough people do. Let us all stay as one. God bless Nigeria!”
