Nnamani heads electoral reforms committee

The Federal Government will on Tuesday, October 4, in Abuja, inaugurate a 24-man constitutional and electoral reforms committee, headed by former Senate President, Ken Nnamani.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Salihu Othman Isah, said that the committee would be reviewing the current Electoral Act to ensure that it meets global standard and satisfies the desire of the electorate.

The committee is expected to review electoral environment, laws and experiences from recent elections conducted in the country and make recommendations to strengthen and achieve the conduct of free and fair elections.

Other members of the committee include the secretary of the committee, Dr. Mamman Lawal of Bayero University, Kano, Dr. Muiz Banire, SAN, Dr. Clement Nwankwo, Chief A. C Ude and the Director, Legal Drafting, Federal Ministry of Justice,. Mr. Tahir,
