Nollywood: Baba Wande laments discrimination against older actors

A Yoruba Nollywood popular actor, Alhaji Kareem Adepoju, popularly known as Baba Wande, has expressed displeasure over the alleged “neglect” of older artistes in movie production by their younger counterparts.
The talented thespian said this act of discrimination against older film actors and actresses was creating a big problem in the Yoruba movie industry.
Baba Wande, who hails from Osogbo in Osun State, disclosed this while speaking with our correspondent in Osogbo.
According to him, the unwillingness of younger movie stars to invite the older ones for movie production has had adverse effect on the Yoruba movie industry.
He said such act of neglect was not occurring in other ethnic movie industries.
“The problem in the Yoruba movie industry is that the youth artistes are not inviting the old artistes into their movie production, which is a contradiction to other ethnic groups like the Igbo. This should not be so,” he declared.
