Odiaka charges Iheanacho to turn new leaf

Ex-international, Monday Odiaka, has advised Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, to turn a new leaf and grab the chance to re-launch his career at Leicester City.
The former Under-17 player has been the subject of a transfer deal worth £25million from Manchester City to Leicester City.
The club, which also pays the wages of two other Nigerians – Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi, is already warming up to give Iheanacho first hand treatment after resuming for top flight actions.
Leicester Manager, Craig Shakespeare made Iheanacho one of his primary summer targets and after further talks were held between the two EPL clubs, a deal was finalised.
The arrival of Iheanacho will see Leicester put club record signing, Islam Slimani, up for sale after a disappointing spell following his £29million move from Sporting CP.
Despite breaking into the first team under Manuel Pellegrini, Iheanacho has struggled for game time since the
arrival of Pep Guardiola, and the signing of Gabriel Jesus pushed him further down the pecking order.
The arrival of Iheanacho would lessen the burden on England striker Jamie Vardy at Leicester and the club have made it a priority to add another striker in the transfer window.
“I think the move is a great one for the player who is hungry for success. I am excited about it because Iheanacho would be afforded enough playing time to improve his game. The Man City bench role has really affected his play. You can see that when he came home recently against South Africa during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, he could not click. He failed himself and the nation when the chips were down. I think this move will make him a better player and his aims and objectives would be fulfilled as a player. Nigeria will now enjoy him,” Odiaka told our correspondent.
Leicester City won the 2015–16 Premier League, their first top-level football championship. They are one of only six clubs to have won the Premier League since its inception in 1992. A number of newspapers described their title win as the greatest sporting upset ever, considering that at the start of the season, they were favourites to face relegation.
During the week, news frittered in that Tottenham were reportedly ready to try a late move to hijack Leicester City’s transfer move for Iheanacho with a 50 million pounds offer.
The 20-year-old is attracting plenty of interest this summer after being allowed to leave City, with European giants Monaco and Borussia Dortmund also said to be tracking him.
However, Leicester have looked the big favourites for Iheanacho’s signature in recent weeks, with the Foxes looking to strengthen up front after a slightly disappointing season last term.
Early Thursday, another information said a tribunal sitting in Manchester City had halted Kelechi Iheanacho’s move to Leicester City. The court ruled against his wish in the battle over his image right.
US-based First Eleven are in court with Iheanacho’s preferred management team, Stellar Group over his image right.
The report said the striker had approached the court to validate his decision to terminate his contract with First Eleven.
