Ogun education sector is paralysed, says ex-deputy speaker

A former deputy speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Remmy Hazzan, has said that the education sector in the state had become paralysed.
Hazzan decried the dearth of teachers’ motivation while speaking on Sweet FM’s Flagship programme, ‘The Podium.’
The former lawmaker further said that though the model schools built by the present administration were good projects, they were not the immediate need of the people of the state.
Hazzan said, “Most of the decision taken by the present administration so far are important but not urgent. One way to determine whether a government is wise is the ability of that government to differentiate between an important need and an urgent one.”
He also appraised the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration on the various road construction projects it had embarked.
“I feel the roads are quite good but I disagree with the pricing. I also will feel better if those roads lead to where revenues come from.
How many of those roads lead to farm settlements or industrial estates.
“The road to Agbara is nothing to write home about. Constructing that road is a lot more urgent than what we have right now. We should encourage the tax payers,” he said.
The former deputy speaker also commented on the strike action in the state calling on the aggrieved workers to come to a roundtable in order to negotiate.
