The Ogun State Police Command has beefed up security across the State ahead of the forthcoming Christmas and New Year Celebrations. The step becomes necessary due to the peculiar nature of the State which is the host of International Headquarters of many religious organisations.
Religious bodies such as Redeemed Christian church of God, Mountain of Fire and Miracle, Living Faith Church, NASFAT, Deeper Life Bible Church,Celestial Church of Christ and many others have their headquarters in Ogun State and this will attract large number of their faithfuls to the state in order to perform one religious obligation or the other.
The Point learnt that, it was in view of this that, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu,  ordered a- 24 hour surveillance around these worship houses. In addition, the CP also  ordered tactical deployment of operatives both uniform and plain clothed men across the State in order to nip in the bud, any act of criminality.
The CP equally directed that all Area Commanders and DPOs should be on red alert and be proactive in their fight against crime as he will not tolerate any act of indolence from any of his Officers.
The CP therefore, appealed to members of the public to partner with the Police by giving them useful information in order to rid the State of crime and criminality before, during and after the yuletide season.
