Ondo PDP sacks factional chairman, 21 others

The Ondo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended the chairman of the factional arm, Prince Biyi Poroye, and other 21 members, who are believed to have been fingered in the unfortunate incident that greeted the party during November 26 governorship election.
A statement from the party, signed by the state publicity secretary, Mr. Banji Okunomo, and made available to our correspondent, explained that the decision was taken at a meeting held by the party’s state Working Committee earlier on Tuesday.
“In line with section 57 of the constitution of our party, and the inherent powers conferred on the state working committee of the party, the following members are hereby suspended from the party with immediate effect for gross anti party activities:
“Arole Denis Alonge Niyi, Prince Biyi Poroye, Hon. Ebenezer Omotayo Alabi, Hon. Johnson Alabi, Chief Ola bisi Johnson, Dr Olu Olu Ogunye, Sen. Omololu Moroyi, Chief Mrs Yemi Ajonibode, Alhaji Musa Megida Chief Isaac Alase, Bar. Sola Ebiseni, Ademola Genty, and others.”
The statement, however, summoned the suspended members to show up before the party disciplinary committee on Monday, December 5, 2016.
