Being over-protective of children often counter-productive – Seyi Law

Comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, aka Seyi Law’s joy knew no bounds on Sunday, as he held his baby girl’s dedication, Tiwaloluwa, in style. Reason: After years of attempt to have a baby, God finally answered his prayers. An elated Seyi told The Point at the ceremony, which was well attended by Nigerian entertainers, including Kate Henshaw, Mercy Aigbe, Funnybone, Yomi Casual and Bash, that he was so excited and could not hide it.

He stated, “I am now a proud father and I am grateful for that. I cannot quantify the excitement. Even through the pregnancy and the challenges afterwards, I saw God’s miracles. The truth is that if my wife had not travelled out of this country, we might have lost this baby too. We had terrible medical challenges. I thank God we had the opportunity to seek better medical treatment abroad. I do not want to go into details of the medical challenges, but it was the grace of God.

The comedian, who shared a joke a few days after the birth of his baby that he had brought a gun for any young boy who would pass through his place and look at his house more than once, stressed that he would not like to be too protective, because he lived under authority for a greater part of his life and knew the implications. “Sometimes, no matter what people say to change you, you will not change once you are not ready to accept change. Whenever I remember the ill treatments I got from the people who were trying to protect me and the damages, before I decided to be a better person for myself, I would not want to do the same to anyone.”
