The police in Ogun have arrested a 25-year-old man, Babalola Alex, in possession of a human head in the Asese area of the state.
The suspect, who is from Ondo State, was arrested at about 12noon on Thursday by the operatives of the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad, who were on routine patrol of the area.
His arrest followed a tip-off by a member of the public, who called the attention of FSARS operatives to two men, who emerged from a nearby bush with a sack.
He informed them that he went into the bush to ease himself when he saw the two men hiding what looked like a human head in a sack.
Upon the receipt of the information, the policemen went after the two men and subsequently got one of them arrested while the other one escaped.
On searching the sack with the arrested suspect, it was discovered that it contained a human head.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the suspect, on interrogation said that a herbalist asked him and his fleeing partner, who he simply identified as Ijebu, to bring a human head for money making ritual.
Oyeyemi, an assistant superintendent of police, added that the Baale of Asese, Chief Kasumu Sonola, commended the FSARS team for their quick response and routine patrol of the area.
He urged them to intensify the patrol in order to rid the area of criminals.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered a manhunt for the fleeing suspect and prosecution of the already arrested one.
