Police arrest notorious land grabber in Ogun, recover 6 guns, ammunition

The police in Ogun State have arrested a notorious land grabber terrorising ogijo and its environs, Shakirudeen Shittu.
The suspect was arrested at Eyinogbe Isale area of Ogijo while the Anti-Robbery team of the division led by the Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent Tijani Muhammad, was on a routine patrol of the area.
Shittu was said to be living at Ipinyewa Phase 2 in Lagos State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that Information revealed that the suspect had been involved in series of land grabbing violence resulting in the loss of lives and wanton destruction of properties.
Oyeyemi, an assistant superintendent of police, added that two pump action guns, three locally made single barrel guns, one short locally made double barrel gun, 75 live cartridges, assorted charms and the sum of N87,600 were recovered from the suspect.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad for discrete investigation with a view to tracking down other members of his group.
The police commissioner, therefore, warned land grabbers to either leave the state or desist from their violent act because the command would deal decisively with anyone caught causing or intending to cause any form of violence in the state.
