The police in Ogun have arrested one Prosper Kerry, also known as Pman, for alleged robbery.
The suspect was said to have arrived in Tulamania Hotel in Odo-Nla area of Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of the state on a motorcycle with two others and attacked those who lodged in the hotel, dispossessing victims of their valuables at gun point.
While the operation was going on, distress call was sent to the police in Ogijo and the Divisional Police Officer, SP Muhammed Tijani, personally led his anti-robbery team to the scene to engage the hoodlums in a gun battle.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said that at the end of the operation, two of the suspects escaped while Prosper Kerry was arrested.
Oyeyemi, an assistant superintendent of police, said that a locally made gun and three live cartridges were recovered from the suspect.
The PPRO added that the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to FSARS for discreet investigation.
The police boss also ordered that a manhunt be launched for the fleeing suspects.
