Police arrest three persons with human skulls in Ogun

The Police in  Ogun have arrested three men for allegedly being in possession of two  human skulls.
The suspects, Saibu Popoola, Aliu Ajiroba and Jimoh Ijiola were apprehended by policemen attached to the Ayetoro Division in Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were arrested, when the policemen, who were on a routine patrol accosted Poppola and Ajiroba, who were riding on a Bajaj motorcycle along Idagba Olodo road carrying a bag that looked suspicious.
The State Police Public Relations  Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi,  said that when a search was conducted on the suspects, two human skulls were found in the bag.
Oyeyemi, an assistant superintendent of police, said that the two suspects were taken to the Ayetoro Police Station, where they confessed to the police that the skulls were handed to them by one Jimoh Ijiola residing in the Erinpa area of the town.
The PPRO added that the DPO of Ayetoro Division, Chief Superintendent of Police Makinde Kayode, led detectives to the residence of Ijiola, where he was also arrested.
Ijiola, however, denied giving the suspects the skulls, saying they all got them from neighbouring Benin Republic with the intention of using them for money rituals .
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.
