Police arrest two prostitutes for killing client over unpaid fee

The police in Ogun have arrested two commercial sex workers over the alleged killing of a middle-aged man in a hotel in Ifo, Ifo Local Government Area of the state.
The two commercial sex workers, Kudirat Raji, a.k.a Angel, and Esther Basiru, worked at KS Hotel, Ifo, where the victim, Adeyinka  Olayinka, who was supervising ongoing construction work on his building site, decided to pass the night before the incident occurred.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim contracted Kudirat Raji to pass the night with him after reaching an agreement on the fee to be paid, but the deceased reneged, leading to a hot argument between them.
While the argument was going on, Angela’s friend, Esther Basiru, broke a bottle, which she used to inflict an injury on Olayinka’s friend, who was also at the scene, while Angela used part of the broken bottle to stab the deceased on the armpit, cutting off one of his nerves.
As a result of this fatal injury, Olayinka bled to death.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the manager of the hotel quickly alerted the police and the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ifo, CSP Anthony Haruna, who led his men to the scene to arrest the two suspects.
Oyeyemi, an assistant superintendent of police, added that the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for thorough investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.
