Police nab two brothers for killing 73-yr-old man in Ogun

The police in Ogun have arrested two brothers, Mathew Elegbede, 27, and Sunday Elegbede, 33, over the murder of a 73-year-old man, Odeyemi Adebari.
The two suspects were arrested following a complaint from the son of the deceased, who reported at the Agbara Division that the two brothers attacked his father with machete and inflicted multiple injuries on him.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was admitted but died four days after, as a result of the injuries he sustained.
According to the police, trouble started on June 12, when Mathew Elegebde reportedly broke into the apartment of a tenant in the house of the deceased and the tenant raised the alarm that he didn’t  know the mission of the suspect in his apartment.
The deceased then came out to challenge Mathew’s audacity to come into his house uninvited.
Mathew was said to have run away and shortly afterwards returned with his elder brother armed with a machete, which they used to inflict injuries on the septuagenarian, resulting in his death.
The DPO Agbara Division, Superintendent Adegbite Omotayo, led his men to effect the arrest of the siblings and they have made useful statements to the police.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.
