Police vow to rescue victims of Turkish college kidnap

  • Appeal for “some time”
Operatives of the Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force are not relenting on their efforts to rescue the eight persons abducted at the Nigerian Tulip International College in Isheri, Ogun State, by suspected kidnappers over a week ago.
The command has, however, pleaded for “some time” to enable its operatives on the trail of the kidnappers to do a perfect and successful job of rescuing the abducted persons.
Those abducted victims include three students, three female supervisor, a female cook and a female Turkish teacher. They were kidnapped from the school by unknown gun men.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, compromising Lagos and Ogun states, Mr.  Kayode Aderanti, gave the assurance while addressing newsmen shortly after paying a courtesy visit to former president Olusegun Obasanjo.
Aderanti assured that the police were determined in retrieving the kidnap victims from their abductors.
“We are working assiduously towards getting the children back, just give us some time,” he said.
Aderanti noted that the purpose of his visit to Obasanjo was to present himself to the former president as the new AIG in charge of the Zone 2 command in his efforts to ensure that the two states under his purview were free of crime and criminality.
“My reason for coming is to meet  Baba, president Olusegun Obasanjo is to let him know  that I am around and on ground and to do everything  possible to ensure  that Ogun and Lagos state are kept clean of criminals,” he said.
The AIG, therefore, promised that he would work with the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Ahmed Iliyasu , in order to ensure  adequate security throughout the state.
“I know I’m to put in my best and support the security  structure on the ground and work together with  the commissioner of police, who has been doing effectively well and to ensure  we place a very good security architecture in Ogun so that everyone will be able to go about  their  duties,” he said.
Aderanti also pledged his support for Governor Ibikunle Amosun in making sure that his dream  to make the state a business  haven became  a reality.
” l will support  the Executive governor in such a way that Ogun State will be a business haven in this country, where we have  low crime,  peace and harmony and I think  it will attract foreign  investors,” he said.
