Police warn IPOB to stay clear of Delta State

The Delta state police command has warned members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to stay clear of the state, saying it will deal ruthlessly with anyone found disturbing the peace of the state.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Celestina Kalu gave this warning yesterday in a statement made available to journalists in Warri.
She said, “Intelligence report reaching Delta State Police Command indicates that members of the out-law Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) plan to embark on a protest on Friday, 23rd September, 2016. The Command wishes to warn IPOB members to stay clear of Delta State as the state does not subscribe to such an agenda.”
She also warned that the state police command has been fully briefed “on the SOP and rules of engagement and have been deployed and briefed to deal ruthlessly with any person or group of persons who attempts to cause the breach of peace for whatever reason.”
The Delta state police image maker therefore advised parents and guardians to warn their children and wards not to join any form of protest.
She however, assured law abiding Deltans and residents of their safety and advised them “to go about their legitimate business while exposing suspicious movement of miscreants.”
