PSG moneybags ready to break bank for Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain has not given up hope on luring Barcel o n a supers t a r , Neymar, and are prepared to meet his huge release clause, according to a report. The Ligue 1 outfit is “ready to renew their efforts” to land the Brazil star and they are planning a €222 million deal in order to land their number one target. PSG officials made a concerted attempt to try and land the 24-yearold in the summer and Neymar was “enthusiastic”, according to his agent, Wagner Ribeiro.
PSG were willing to pay Neymar’s £161 million release clause, and then he would have earned £33.9m a year after tax,” Ribeiro told ESPN. “We were talking for two hours and Neymar was enthusiastic. (PSG President) Nasser Al-Khelaifi explained that there would be no tax issues at PSG and that he’d be the No. 1 in the team, which isn’t the case at Barca.”
There were suggestions that interest from PSG was manufactured to persuade Barca to offer Neymar a new lucrative deal and he has since signed a new and improved contract that will tie him to the Camp Nou side until 2021.
However, PSG, who failed in their attempts to lure Cristiano Ronaldo to the French capital, are still interested in Neymar if this new report is to be believed; and they will pay his €222 million release clause to land him.
Neymar’s buyout clause has been fixed at €200 million euros for the first year of his contract, €222 million for the second and €250 million for the remaining three years, suggesting that they are planning a move next summer and before his buyout reaches its maximum in 2018.
Barcelona are believed to be looking to recoup the €600 million they have spent in renovating the Camp Nou and the sale of Neymar would go some way to paying off.
